Privacy Policy Draft

The website is now publicly live. This page remains a transition-stage draft that explains the minimum scope of website, download-redirect, and basic analytics handling.

There is currently no account system or payment system on the website. Downloads are distributed through multiple delivery sources: visitors in mainland China are directed to a domestic object-storage mirror first, while other regions continue through GitHub Releases. The website itself keeps only minimal visit and download-entry analytics.

1. Information handled at current stage

CatchBan currently does not require account registration or user media uploads on the website. Hosting, CDN, and browser infrastructure may still process routine technical visit logs. In addition, the website now uses Mixpanel for basic product analytics around page views, download-page visits, and download-button clicks. These events are intended to stay limited to fields such as page path, locale, referrer host, UTM campaign parameters, browser environment, and download entry context, rather than your local media content.

2. Download redirects and campaign attribution

If you visit the site through a marketing link that carries UTM parameters, those parameters may be used to measure which content channels lead to visits and download intent. Current download entry points redirect either to a domestic object-storage mirror or to GitHub Releases depending on visitor region, and any download-side logging or cookie handling is subject to the corresponding provider's own policies.

3. Local media and product data

CatchBan is designed as a local-first creator workspace. This website draft does not process your local media files. Any future product-side policies around indexing, sync, or diagnostic uploads will be documented separately.

4. Policy updates

This draft will be replaced by a more formal policy after the legal copy is finalized. You can track major policy/document updates in the changelog.
